Aug 1, 2012- Nashville, TN- Rodizio Grill, America’s First Brazilian Steakhouse, is set to open Fall of 2012 on Nashville’s Historic Second Avenue.
Rodizio Grill is a traditional “churrascaria” (Brazilian Steakhouse) where the style of service features a rotation of the meats around the dining room table, as well as the rotisserie style of cooking. Guests can enjoy Rodizio Grill’s priced-fixed experience which features unlimited appetizers, gourmet salads and, for its main event, a parade of perfectly grilled meats carved tableside by dashing Brazilian Gauchos.
Some of Rodizio Grill’s most famous items include Pao de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread), Feijoda (a rich black bean stew) and other Brazilian staples like Farofa (roasted yucca flower), Picanha (a juice cut of top sirloin), Maminha (a robustly flavored tri-tip sirloin); as well as cuts of marinated chicken, sausages, lamb and even glazed grilled pineapple. Authentic Brazilian homemade desserts top off this unforgettable dining experience.
All of Rodizio Grill’s menu items originated from cherished family recipes from founder and President Ivan Utrera’s hometown of São Paulo, Brazil.
Mark and Carla Rosenthal, owners of The Melting Pot Fondue Restaurant, have teamed up with Rodizio Grill to bring this fun and festive concept to Nashville as one of the company’s first franchisees. Rodizio Grill was founded by Utrera in 1995, making it the first Brazilian Steakhouse in the United States. The Rosenthal’s are excited to bring the vacant space above the Melting Pot back to life. The atmosphere will show off the natural beauty of the 19th century Rhea Building and will feature tables, chairs, and grills imported directly from Brazil. Brightly colored Brazilian art will also enrich the brick walls of this historic building. The intention is create a warm and inviting ambiance that embraces and celebrates the alegria of an authentic Brazilian dining experience. In Brazil, churrascarias can be found in a variety of price ranges.
In the United States, Brazilian Steakhouses are in the ultra premium price range, but Rodizio Grill prides itself on an exceptional dining experience at moderate prices.
“The opening of Nashville’s Rodizio Grill will be another step towards fulfilling Ivan’s and our dream of bringing this unique experience to Americans at a more affordable price point while providing great service, food quality, and authentic flavors and flair of Brazil,” stated Mark Rosenthal. Rodizio Grill Nashville will be located on 166 Second Avenue N. in Nashville, Tennessee.
