Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and Consul-General Masami Kinefuchi, joined representatives from Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and Metro Nashville Public Schools, for a catered “Welcome Luncheon” during a break in the action from rehearsals.

Kyodo Tokyo, which produces and presents Broadway touring shows in Ja- pan, moved its rehearsal to Nashville as part of a unique collaboration, facilitated by TPAC, between the company and Metro Schools. In exchange for using the high school’s gymnasium and other facilities, Kyodo Tokyo made a $5,000 donation to the high school’s band program. The students were very excited to observe and interact with the performers.
