NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Democratic Party has hired two new senior staffers to roles in communications and finance. Luis Mata will serve as the Tennessee Democratic Party’s new Communications & Deputy Executive Director, and Christina Keith will step into the role of Finance Director.

“We’re bringing on two powerhouses who know what it takes to win in Tennessee,” said Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Rachel Campbell. “Luis and Christina bring the kind of energy, vision, and experience we need to meet this moment — and build something real from the ground up.”

Luis Mata has spent more than a decade organizing on the frontlines of the fight for immigrant rights as a Government Relations Manager at Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. In 2024, he ran for State House, centering his campaign on everyday issues working families across Tennessee face. “Whether it be troops patrolling our neighborhoods, our healthcare being ripped away, or barely being able to put food on the table, Tennesseans deserve better,” said Luis Mata, Tennessee Democratic Party’s new Communications & Deputy Executive Director. “We’re done playing only defense against Trump and the state’s supermajority,” Mata said. “We’re going to be bold, we’re going to be clear, and we’re going to fight like hell for the freedoms of everyday working families each and every day. I am honored to step into this role. A New Era. A New TNDP. A New South!”

Christina Keith comes to TNDP after serving as Deputy Finance Director at Triumph Strategies, a Tennessee-based Democratic fundraising firm.  While there, Keith built war chests for progressive Democratic candidates across the state at the local, state, and federal level. “We can’t talk about power unless we can build the resources to sustain it,” said Christina Keith, incoming Finance Director. “But it’s not just about raising money. It’s about doing it in a way that reflects our values. That means relying on grassroots donors and supporters who believe in a better future for Tennessee. We’re in this fight for working families, not the wealthy few.”

“This moment is about standing up for what Tennesseans believe in like fairness, freedom, and the chance to build a good life,” said Brian Córdova, Executive Director of the Tennessee Democratic Party. “Luis and Christina know these values because they’ve lived them and fought for them.
