WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, May 25th the NCBCP Black Womens Roundtable and the National Council for Negro Women (NCNW) will partner with over 30 national civil rights, reproductive rights and social justice organizations to host a Black Women Leaders & Allies Call to Action on Voting Rights & Reproductive Justice, to push for the passage of Federal Voting Rights Legislation and to make an urgent call for Congress to protect reproductive rights for women that are under attack.

The Day of Action will begin with a “Speak Out and Silent Protest” on the steps of The United States Supreme Court. The event will run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am ET and will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/NCBCP/; #RolandMartinUnfiltered; www.facebook.com/ncnw633, and Act.TV.

In addition, partner organizations will participate in a National Call-In Day on Wednesday, May 25th from 9:00 am ET to 5:00 pm ET and will direct their members and allies to make calls to their U. S. Senators advocating for them to pass federal voting rights reform and protect women’s reproductive rights. Supporters can learn more and take action at BlackWomenTakeAction.org.
