NASHVILLE, TN — Country music star Kane Brown will co-host next Sunday’s 57th edition of the CMT Awards.

It will be the first time the ceremony will be aired from Austin, TX. It is being shown on CBS (locally on Channel 5) at 7 pm.

Brown, a past winner of the CMT Artist of the Year Award, is being  joined by Kelsea Ballerini in hosting the event.

Unlike some other country industry awards,  the CMTs refect fan choices. Brown is among several artists with multiple nominations. But it is Lainey Wilson who has earned the most nominations with four.

Both Wilson and Ballerini are also on the list of scheduled performers. They join Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, Carly Pearce, and Keith Urban as major artists who will be performing on the three-hour telecast.

Brown was among five major stars who was not nominated this past year for any Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. But his popularity remains high. He earned his eighth number one single in August for the song “Like I Love Country Music.”

Voting remains open for this year’s event on the CMT website. Fans can vote as often as 10 times a day.
