CHATTANOOGA - BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) has named Clear Strategies Consulting president and former BlueCross executive Calvin Anderson to its board of directors.  

In addition to his leadership of Clear Strategies, a public policy and healthcare consulting firm, Anderson also serves as a consultant for Cooley Public Strategies, a public affairs consulting firm.  

He joined the BlueCross government relations team in 1994 and held a variety of roles within the company before retiring in 2017 as senior vice president of corporate affairs and chief of staff. Anderson also served on the State Election Commission from 1995 to 2007.   

“Calvin’s extensive skills, leadership background and knowledge of BlueCross make him uniquely qualified to serve Tennesseans as a member of our board,” said Emily Reynolds, chairman of the BlueCross board. “His decades of experience and community service will help sustain the work we do on behalf of our members and businesses, as well as communities across the state.” 

Anderson, a Memphis native and current resident, earned a business degree from the University of Memphis. He is a member of Class II of Leadership Tennessee.
