NASHVILLE, TN — Award-winning vocalist, songwriter and instrumentalist Lizzo announced Monday an extension of her First Look deal with Amazon Studios.

The original deal was signed in 2020, and it gave Amazon Studios priority on any film and television projects developed by Lizzo and her company.  She also at the time put out a casting call for various “big girls” for assorted projects.

In Monday’s announcement, Lizzo put out a new casting call. This is part of her ongoing campaign to provide more opportunities for women hustiri ly denied any outlets into film, television or music due to their physical size or look. This exclusion has historically been particularly hard on Black women.

Lizzo told a variety of entertainment sites she was pleased and happy to extend the deal, and pledged to work even harder to find ways to provide positive exposure for all women, and especially those usually overlooked or ignored by mainstream media.

Lizzo’s career is a prime example of someone beating the odds. She has won multiple Grammy awards and been greatly popular as both a musical star and video performer while not fitting the usual definitions of beauty according to mainstream media.

She remains committed to helping other women achieve similar success.Lizzo Extends Her Deal With Amazon
