NASHVILLE, TN — Kristin Priesol Smart has joined Nashville School of Law (NSL) as Director of Communications and Engagement, announced Dean William C. Koch, Jr. As a part of the school’s senior management team, Smart will be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of marketing strategies, event planning, media relations, and internal and external communications.
“I am delighted that Kristin will be joining our staff. Her considerable skills and experience will move Nashville School of Law’s internal and external communications to a new level. She is just the right person to tell the compelling stories of our School and its students and graduates,” said Dean Koch.
Smart brings more than 20 years of media experience to NSL. She was previously the Senior Public Relations Specialist and Local News Director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to that, she was a news anchor and medical reporter at WTVF NewsChannel 5 in Nashville. She has been recognized with several regional Emmy nominations.
Smart is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Radio Television Film/Journalism.
Living in Nashville since 2001, Smart is passionate about helping those in our community. She and her two children have volunteered at several non-profit organizations. Most holidays you can find them serving meals at the Women’s shelter of the Nashville Rescue Mission. Smart has also volunteered with Second Harvest, the Red Cross and the Nashville Children’s Alliance.
