Event marks the fourth annual meeting of the Rivers of Rhythm Institute for Social Education

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) will host the fourth annual Rivers of Rhythm Institute for Social Education (RRISE) event next week. The event is a two-day workshop that equips educators with instructional practice strategies and content for developing culturally inclusive knowledge and skills.

RRISE is geared toward educators in grades 3–8 and provides participants with information on how to utilize NMAAM content and various techniques with two goals – first, to teach African American history and engage students across all barriers: spatially, culturally, emotionally, intellectually; and second, to make this information accessible and useful to all.
