NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt University Athletic Director Candice Storey Lee was included in the lineup of all-star mentors who participating in Mentoring Matters, a virtual networking and fundraising event on Wednesday, September 22, benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

Lee, a former Lady Commodore basketball star and student scholar, is the first woman to lead Vanderbilt’s overall athletic program and the first African American female to manage a Southeastern Conference university’s athletics program. For her discussion topic during the event, she will explain how athletics prepares young people for the workplace and beyond.

Other mentors who participated:

For the past 15 years, BBBSMT hosted the Franklin Wine Festival, its longest-running fundraising event, and Mentoring Matters took the place of that event. Mentoring Matters aligns strongly with BBBSMT’s mission to defend the potential of Middle Tennessee youth through the power of mentorship.
