Jordan Obi, a fourth-year forward for the Penn women’s basketball team, has garnered numerous accolades throughout her collegiate career, demonstrating her prowess both on and off the court.

Throughout her time at Penn, Obi has accumulated an impressive array of career honors, including two-time Second-Team All-Ivy selections in 2022 and 2023, and two-time Second-Team All-Big 5 recognitions in the same years. Additionally, she was named to the CoBL.com All-City 6 Second Team in 2022, showcasing her impact within the city’s basketball scene.

Obi’s achievements extend beyond her team’s confines; she has received individual accolades such as Ivy League Player of the Week in December 2023 and multiple Ivy League Rookie of the Week titles. Notably, she joined the 1,000-point club on February 2, 2024, during a game against Brown, becoming only the 25th player in program history to achieve this milestone in just 74 games.

In the 2022-23 season, Obi continued to excel, earning Second-Team All-Ivy and All-Big 5 honors. Her statistical contributions were substantial, as she ranked fourth in Ivy League rebounding and tenth in scoring. With six double-doubles and consistent performance, Obi solidified her presence as a key player for the Quakers.

During her sophomore season, Obi’s impact was evident as she claimed Second-Team All-Ivy and All-Big 5 accolades for the second consecutive year. Notably, she led the team with seven double-doubles and showcased her versatility by ranking among the top in various statistical categories within the Ivy League.

Obi’s journey to success began in high school, where she demonstrated her athletic prowess as a four-year varsity letter winner. Her achievements continued with the New York Gauchos AAU team, earning recognition as an Adidas Gauntlet All-American.

Off the court, Obi’s growth as a leader has been instrumental for the Penn team. Head Coach Mike McLaughlin commends her development, noting her transformation into a mentor for younger players. Obi’s leadership extends beyond her statistical contributions, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork within the team.
