NATIONAL-Lessie Benningfield Randle has spent more than a century living history. At 111, she is the last living survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, according to Go Fund Me.
After visiting Greenwood Rising, a museum honoring Black Wall Street, she told her granddaughter, “I want to travel, not just look at four walls.”
Her next destination is Chicago to visit the Obama Presidential Center. She will also receive a humanitarian award during the trip, according to Go Fund Me.
A fundraiser will help make the journey possible.
