NASHVILLE, TN — Jordan Peele’s string of successes continued this week as Amazon announced Monday that “Hunters,” the series he co-executive produces along with Win Fosenfeld under their Monkeypaw Productions banner has been renewed for a second season. David Weil created the series, and is another executive producer as well as co-showrunner along with Nikki Toscano. Other executive producers include Nelson McCormick, Sonar Entertainment’s David Ellender and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who also directed the pilot. Amazon and Sonar co-produce “Hunters”.

The announcement ran first in Variety, and was subsequently picked up by other websites. “Hunter’s first season began Feb. 21. The show follows the exploits of a diverse band of Nazi hunters living and working in 1977 New York City. They’ve discovered there are hundreds of surviving high-ranking Nazi officers who either received asylum or came to America under phony identities. Now this group is trying to create a Fourth Reich, only this time an American version of Nazi terror.

“With ‘Hunters,’ David Weil’s bold vision and fearless imagination powered a thrilling, twisty, action-packed first season that engaged Prime Video customers around the world,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, “We are thrilled that David, Jordan and the ‘Hunters’ will be back with us for more.”

The show’s powerhouse cast was one of its biggest attributes. The first season was headlined by the great Al Pacino. It also included  Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker, and Lena Olin.

“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters,” Weil said. “Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”
