NASHVILLE, TN — One of the main stars from Netflix’s latest hit will now be featured on a broadcast TV staple. “Bridgerton” star Rege-Jane Page is making his debut this weekend on “Saturday Night Live,” with musical guest Bad Bunny, who is also appearing for the first time on the NBC network’s (locally WSMV-4) long-running show.

Page is enjoying rave reviews and big audiences in his current “Bridgerton” role as Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. The series, based on Julia Quinn’s romance novels of the same name has been brought to television as ace producer Shonda Rhimes’ first Netflix project along with Chris Van Dusen, previously producer of “Scandal.” Netflix has reported that “Bridgerton” is its most watched original series ever, attracting more than 82 million member households over its first 28 days.

The notoriety has also greatly boosted Page’s profile. He’s now appearing on the short lists of potential replacements for Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Last week he earned a SAG Award nomination, and also has received an NAACP Image Award nomination.

Bad Bunny is among the busiest musical performers on the contemporary scene. He had three successful LPs last year and earned an Achievement in International Music Award from Variety. He also appeared on the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show. Bad Bunny was nominated eight times last year between the Latin Grammys and American Music Awards, and had one win. He is nominated this year for two more Grammys.
