    Titans Now in Crisis Mode

The Tennessee Titans looked awful on both sides of the ball Sunday as they dropped their first division game to the Jacksonville Jaguars 36-22 and saw their record fall to 7-6. It was their third straight loss, but they remain the AFC South leader.

NASHVILLE, TN — Earlier last week Tennessee Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel said that the team was at a crossroads. After Sunday’s dismal home blowout los to the Jacksonville Jaguars the more accurate word is  crisis. They Titans have lost three in a row, dropped to 7-6 overall, and now also no longer are unbeaten in the AFC South.

There was talk that the Jaguars QBTrevor Lawrence. might not be available. The Titans mo doubt would have preferred that he hadn’t as Lawrence had his finest day as a professional in orchestrating the 46-22 rout. Lawrence had three touchdown passes, another touchdown run, and 368 yards passing while completing over 70 percent of his passes. The Jaguars defense added four takeaways as well, whiole also keeping ample pressure on the Titans QB Ryan Tannehill the entire game.

There’s been talk all season long about the Titans problems with the offensive line. But their secondary issues are now becoming an even bigger problem. They were already next to last in several defensive passing categories despite ranking third against the run. So Jacksonville simply abandoned+ the run for the most part and instead concentrated on passing. Besides Lawrence, another Jacksonville player who had a career day was wide receiver Evan Engram. He set career-highs in receptions (11) receiving yards (162) and touchdown receptions (2). Though held to just 32 yards, the Jaguars Travis Etienne (1,028) eclipsed 1,000 for the 2022 season.

What offense the Titans did generate mostly came through Derrick Henry. who gained 127 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown. But he also had two fumbles. Tennehill finished 35 of 38 for 258 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

The Titans still have the lead in the AFC South, and face the Los Angeles Chargers on the road Sunday. But fans wonder in light of the turmoil that accompanied the firing of general robinsno Jon Robinson, which way will the franchise go?
