NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Davidson County District Attorney Glenn Funk announced today that, thanks to support from Mayor Megan Barry, an expanded team focused on child sexual assault cases is now in place. The Child Sexual Assault (CSA) team is responsible for the prosecution of crimes against our most vulnerable citizens, the children of Nashville.
“Short of murder, the most heinous crime that can occur in our community is the sexual exploitation of a child,” said General Funk. “Through Mayor Barry’s leadership we have been able to expand our team that investigates and prosecutes such crimes. Her FY2017 budget has made this possible. We now have six Assistant District Attorneys whose sole focus is protecting and seeking justice for the children of Davidson County.”
Assistant District Attorney Tammy Meade, Salmon P. Chase College of Law – 1995, heads up the team that includes the following attorneys;
Chad Butler – California Western School of Law, San Diego – 2009
Zoe Sams – University of Memphis – 2013
Jeffrey George – University of Virginia School of Law – 2013
Ross Boudreaux – Loyola University New Orleans College of Law – 2011
Joseph Clifton – University of Memphis – 1996
“I am proud to be part of an effort led by Mayor Barry and General Funk that sees the need to vigorously protect and defend the children that are the future of Nashville,” said Meade. “No matter what age our children are, from birth to 18 and beyond, we want our children to be nurtured and protected from harm. This expanded CSA team of experienced attorneys will bring sexual predators to justice.”
