NASHVILLE, TN — Kyle Petty, 62, is a former racecar driver, musician and speed enthusiast. Petty is featured on a new hit television show, Dinner Drive with Kyle Petty, which premiered Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 8 pm CT.
The episodes feature 12 to 30 minutes of commentary with guests from sports and entertainment hand-selected by Petty. Petty discovers each guest’s car collection and they take a spin in one of the classics while discussing which cars are special to them.

Each guest takes Petty on a drive in their favorite car to one of the guest’s favorite restaurants.
Other episodes this year will feature Olympian Shawn Johnson and World Series baseball champion Chipper Jones, musicians Scott and Seth Avett (more commonly known as “the Avett Brothers”), and NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon.
Petty said, “Working on Dinner Drive has allowed me to meet such interesting, diverse people and really get to know their stories – from childhood to present day. I spent time in Nashville for season two with John Oates, Darrell Waltrip, John Rich, Scott Hamilton, Shawn Johnson and her husband Andrew East. I love sitting down with fellow racers like Darrell, but speaking with musicians and other athletes outside of my typical day-to-day realm is also a huge part of what makes Dinner
Drive so fun. Plus, I always love spending time in Nashville!”
The series can be streamed on Pea-cock TV or on the channel Circle Network. Petty loves learning where others’ passion for classic cars come from and has found that getting to know someone is done best over good food and conversation. His favorite car is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird. This episode shares facts about the cars in relation to history, films and celebrities. For example, the Superbird is featured in the animated film Cars and in 1970 the Superbird won 18 times in a total of 40 races.
Petty currently works as a racing commentator for NBC and is returning to the Grand Canyon State with over 200 of his closest pals and hosting his successfully renowned Charity Ride Across America. April of this year was the 26th year anniversary of Petty’s interactive and inclusive charity event.
The event has raised over $19 million for children with underlying health issues.
Petty’s latest episode of Dinner Drive with Kyle Petty featured the only child of Larry Wayne Jones, Chipper Jones, where they discussed his father’s legacy and their shared passion for classic cars.
Jones shares with Petty his most sentimental car.
