Lincoln University of Missouri has selected Dr. Grant Winrow as its new vice president for university advancement. Winrow, who joins the university with more than 25 years of expertise in administrative management, project leadership and business-to-business sales, previously served at Tennessee State University as assistant dean of student services and special assistant to the president/director of special projects. Winrow assumed responsibility for this position on Aug. 19.

In his new role, Winrow will spearhead the university’s strategic advancement efforts, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and priorities. His responsibilities will include overseeing all fundraising activities, from major donor cultivation and corporate relations to comprehensive campaigns. He will also lead alumni engagement and community outreach initiatives working to enhance the university’s image through effective marketing and communication strategies. As chief advisor to the president, he will play a crucial role in providing guidance on advancement matters and promoting a collaborative environment within the division.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Grant Winrow to Lincoln University as our new vice president for university advancement,” said Lincoln University of Missouri President Dr. John B. Moseley. “Dr. Winrow has a proven track record in higher education advancement, which will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our university’s growth and outreach. His leadership will be instrumental in enhancing our connections with alumni, partners, and the broader community, ensuring that Lincoln University remains a beacon of excellence and opportunity.”

Winrow earned his Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Tennessee State University, where he also completed his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in mass communications.

In his previous role as assistant dean of student services, Winrow significantly improved student services by aligning policies and programs with student success objectives. He managed key university events, fostered a culture of inclusion and served as a liaison to external constituencies to address student concerns and enhance the student experience.

As special assistant to the president/director of special projects, Winrow advised on critical issues such as crisis management, recruitment and fundraising. He led successful campaigns, including a $5 million capital campaign and secured major donations from alumni and corporate partners. His efforts in external relations and strategic planning were vital in advancing the university’s goals and maintaining its accreditation.

“I am super excited and honored to join the Blue Tiger Family at Lincoln,” Winrow said. “I am looking forward to adding to the continued success of this institution by serving the students, alumni and the community. I express my thanks to President Moseley for his vision and innovative leadership. Together, we will continue to strive and thrive as we serve through the power of excellence.”
