Nashville, Tenn. (Tennessee Tribune) On Saturday the 23rd of July, 3304 Leondale Terrace in Parkwood Estates was the scene of a house fire that caused three deaths. According to the ring.com video shared by George Acklin, smoke can be seen emanating from the right side of the house at 8:20 am. George Acklin, the Parkwood Neighborhood Association President, lives across the street from the location of the fire. By 8:34 AM the right side of the roof was engulfed in flames. The Metropolitan Fire Department crews had arrived on the scene.
After moving some obstructions the fire department managed to rescue one victim and take him to Vanderbilt Hospital with third degree burns.
These five residents pictured were able to get out of the house.
One resident who escaped from the house only wishes to be identified as Frank. He responded to the question, Who is the owner of the house? Her name is Ms. Westmoreland. She is a really, really kind lady. I hate that this happen to her and … the casualties.” Ms. Westmoreland does not a reside in the home. A comment from her is not available at this time.
Metro Fire Department put out the fire and pushed through the debris to find two victims in the house. They have since been identified as 35 year old Angela (Ostine) Burgess and 60 year old Johnny Young. The third victim taken to Vanderbilt died of his injuries on Sunday. He has has been identified as 44 year old Michael Young according to Metro police.
In a brief interview with Mr. Gregory Ostine the father of victim Angela (Ostine) Burgess, He says , “I’m here because that’s my daughter in there. She has been running from the police.”
