NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – It appears former president Donald Trump is not letting the recent assassination attempt on him affect his campaign schedule.
Trump had previously committed to being the keynote speaker for the Bitcoin Conference, which is being held in Nashville July 25-27. Speculation over his participation grew after he was shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
The Bitcoin Conference confirmed on Sunday that Trump is honoring his commitment to speak during the conference and will do so in person, as originally planned.
“We are proud to host him and to share the solidarity of the global Bitcoin community and our universal commitment to free speech and peaceful democracy,” the conference posted online.
Conference officials said they are in active talks with their security teams and are cooperating with Trump’s secret service to ensure the event will be safe.
