    Vaughn Ashworth Named One of the ‘Best of the Bar’

    NASHVILLE, TN — Respected Nashville attorney Gail Vaughn Ashworth has been named one of the Nashville Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar.” She has been on the Nashville Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” list since it was established.

    In 2021, she received the publication’s Lifetime Achievement winner in the “Best of the Bar” Awards.

    Ashworth, founding member at Wiseman Ashworth Trauger, has extensive experience at the civil and administrative trial and appellate levels as both defense and plaintiff’s counsel. She is also a Tennessee Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator and Family Mediator with a mediation practice in addition to her trial practice. She is respected for her fairness and experience in health care, personal injury, product liability, insurance, professional liability, commercial, administrative, family and employment law.

    She is past president of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations, serves as a trustee of the Nashville Bar Foundation and serves in the ABA House of Delegates. She is a member of TIPS’ Council, past chair of the TIPS Medicine and Law Committee, a member of the TortSource Editorial Board and mentor for Leadership Academy and TIPS/ABOTA Trial Academy students. Ashworth is particularly proud of having chaired the Tennessee Justice Center, Inc. Board of Directors from 2006-2008, the Tennessee Legal Community Foundation in 2010 and the Legal Aid Society/Nashville Pro Bono Annual Campaign for Justice in 2011. She serves on several non-profit boards, she chaired the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance in 1996, is a recent Past President of Sister Cities Nashville, Inc. and is a long-standing member of a local hospital medical ethics committee.

    Ashworth has practiced civil litigation in Nashville since 1983. She is AV® Preeminent™ rated – the highest peer-review rating possible – and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® since 1995. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law. She earned a B.S. and an M.A. at Tennessee Technological University.

    Wiseman Ashworth Trauger focuses on all areas of healthcare liability, including the defense of physicians, hospitals and long-term care facilities in all aspects of litigation in state, federal and administrative courts. The firm also handles healthcare regulation, personal injury and products liability cases, as well as insurance coverage, medical ethics, probate, commercial litigation and employment matters. Wiseman Ashworth Trauger was founded by partners Gail Vaughn Ashworth and Tom Wiseman in 2010. Byron Trauger joined the firm in early 2022.
