The new 2023 Kia Niro EV is an ideal start for readers who are still considering purchasing an all-electric vehicle. The 2023 Kia Niro EV is an impressive electric vehicle that offers exceptional performance, spaciousness, and efficiency. As a crossover SUV, it has a roomy and comfortable interior that can accommodate up to five passengers, with plenty of room for extra cargo space. With its spacious interior, impressive range, and advanced safety features, Niro offers everything drivers need to make daily commutes or weekend road trips.

Niro has a futuristic interior design. Inside features include dial-type Shift-by-Wire (SBW), with ambient lights that offer six different themes. The interior of the Niro EV is spacious and modern, with comfortable seats that feature convenient split-folding rear seats that support a relaxed and easy-going SUV lifestyle. Convenient seat variations, such as 2nd row 6:4 split-folding.

The vehicle comes with a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen display that provides easy access to features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s a 10.25” electrostatic touch screen with a wide viewing angle that provides outstanding visibility and maneuverability.

Under the hood features start with an electronically controlled transmission and the dial-type SBW make vibration-less e-shifting a cinch, requiring minimal effort and movement.  The Niro EV’s electric powertrain provides instant torque and a smooth, quiet ride. The vehicle has a range of up to 239 miles on a single charge, which is impressive for an electric vehicle in this price range. Charging speed (based on a 100-kW fast charger), takes about 54 minutes with a battery that can charge up to 80% with a fast-charging system, making long distance trips and last-minute charging pretty much a non-issue.

The Niro EV is also equipped with a regenerative braking system that captures energy during braking and helps to extend the vehicle’s range. The radiator grille with geometric patterns, edgy LED DRLs, and LED headlamps and wheels further projects a high-tech futuristic look.

In terms of safety, the Niro EV comes with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance features. These include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The Niro EV has also received a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

    THE NUMBERS/MSRP from $39,950  — Range: 253 mi battery-only
