NASHVILLE — Tennessee voters turned out across the state to cast their ballots in primary elections for state and federal offices and general elections for county races. The results marked a historic series of Democratic victories across Tennessee, including flipping control of the Knox County Board of Education and Montgomery County Commission from Republican to Democratic, ending the Republican supermajority on the Rutherford County Commission, and flipping key races from Republican to Democratic in Anderson, Coffee, Hamblen, Hamilton, Maury, Putnam, Sumner, Washington, Williamson, Wilson, and others across the state.

Statement from Rachel Campbell, Chairwoman of the Tennessee Democratic Party:

“Across our state, voters are demanding leaders who will put working families first, not the same failed politics of division and distraction that have defined more than 15 years of one-party Republican control. While families continue to struggle with rising costs, Republicans have prioritized protecting powerful corporations, billionaires, and special interests over delivering real solutions for the people who call Tennessee home. Voters are ready for a new direction focused on lowering costs, creating opportunity, and building an economy that works for everyone. That’s what Tennessee Democrats will deliver from Memphis to Mountain City.”

Statewide and Federal Democratic Nominees: Governor, Jerri Green; United States Senate, Marquita Bradshaw; United States Congress District 1, Kristi Burke; United States Congress District 2, Michaela Barnett; United States Congress District 3, Anna Golladay; United States Congress District 4, Victoria Broderick; United States Congress District 5, Chaz Molder; United States Congress District 6, Mike Croley; United States Congress District 7, Darden Copeland; United States Congress District 8, Heidi Kuhn; United States Congress District 9, Justin J. Pearson.

With results now finalized, the Tennessee Democratic Party looks ahead to the state and federal general election, carrying forward the momentum from these historic Democratic victories.

Statement from Luis Mata, Communications & Deputy Executive Director of the Tennessee Democratic Party:

“The road to November has started. Our candidates are from all walks of life and share an ambition to make life better and more affordable for every Tennessean in contrast to Republicans’ tired playbook of rising costs, chaos, and corruption that has plagued our state for far too long. We are united, energized, and ready to deliver for working families across Tennessee. Our best days are still in front of us. Over the next three months, we will continue expanding the grassroots organizing infrastructure we have built, supporting our Democratic nominees up and down the ballot, and bringing together the broad coalition it will take to win on November 3 and beyond.”
