NASHVILLE — Tennessee voters turned out across the state to cast their ballots in primary elections for state and federal offices and general elections for county races. The results marked a historic series of Democratic victories across Tennessee, including flipping control of the Knox County Board of Education and Montgomery County Commission from Republican to Democratic, ending the Republican supermajority on the Rutherford County Commission, and flipping key races from Republican to Democratic in Anderson, Coffee, Hamblen, Hamilton, Maury, Putnam, Sumner, Washington, Williamson, Wilson, and others across the state.

“Across our state, voters are demanding leaders who will put working families first, not the same failed politics of division and distraction that have defined more than 15 years of one-party Republican control. While families continue to struggle with rising costs, Republicans have prioritized protecting powerful corporations, billionaires, and special interests over delivering real solutions for the people who call Tennessee home. Voters are ready for a new direction focused on lowering costs, creating opportunity, and building an economy that works for everyone.
