    Ascension Saint Thomas and Lifepoint Health Celebrate Joint Venture

    NASHVILLE TN —  Ascension Saint Thomas and Lifepoint Health hosted a celebration and blessing ceremony on Monday, December 4, to commemorate their joint venture partnership aimed at enhancing access to high-quality care across Northern Middle Tennessee. The event marked the beginning of this collaboration and included the unveiling of a new system logo, symbolizing the unity and shared commitment to advancing healthcare in the region.

    The joint venture includes the ownership of Highpoint Health System, comprising Sumner Regional Medical Center, Sumner Station, Trousdale Medical Center, Riverview Regional Medical Center, and over 15 affiliated clinics. This partnership brings together the organizations’ clinical excellence, best practices and talented caregivers to collaborate in new ways that improves access to clinical programs and specialty care for patients and communities.

    “This partnership stands as a testament to our commitment to shape the future and enhance the health and well-being of the region,” said Fahad Tahir, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas. “Lifepoint’s admirable track record in strengthening health care within communities is aligned with our mission. Together, we are poised to advance clinical programs and bring healthcare close to home, ensuring our combined expertise and resources positively impact the well-being of the communities we serve.”

    Sumner Regional Medical Center, will now to be known as Highpoint Health – Sumner, as the hospitals and sites of care included in the joint venture will be co-branded with Ascension Saint Thomas. Additional Highpoint hospitals will adopt the names of Highpoint Health – Trousdale and Highpoint Health – Riverview.

    The event was attended by leaders from Ascension Saint Thomas, Lifepoint Health and Highpoint Health, along with physicians, nurses, staff, and local elected officials. Speakers at the event included: Fahad Tahir, president and CEO, Ascension Saint Thomas; David Dill, chairman and CEO, Lifepoint Health; Rod Harkleroad, CEO and market president, Highpoint Health; Dr. Geoffrey Lifferth, chief medical officer, Highpoint Health, and Greg Pope, chief mission officer, Ascension Saint Thomas.
