NASHVILLE, TN — Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) awarded one scholarship during the TriState Minority Supplier Development Council (TSMSDC) Impact Awards Event held on April 26 in Nashville, Tenn. This marks the 15th year Bridgestone has awarded these scholarships. The recipient of this year’s Bridgestone’s scholarship funds was Gabriel Hutchinson, who plans to attend Fisk University in Nashville. Hutchinson is a senior at East Nashville Magnet School where he is vice president of the Honor Society, a Boys State Delegate and a tenor in the East Nashville Magnet Legacy Choir. NASHVILLE, TN — FB Financial Corporation (NYSE: FBK), the holding company of Nashville-based FirstBank, has been recognized for its board diversity for having more than 20 percent of its board of director’s seats held by women. In a crowded field of thirteen, the 54-year old Briley got 54 percent of the vote and avoided a run-off with conservative challenger, Carol Swain. About 20 percent of Davidson County’s 398,379 registered voters cast ballots in the special election May 24. Of the 82,082 votes cast, 44,707 voters picked Briley. NANNING, CHINA — Middle Tennessee State University and its primary research partner in China agreed to create a joint ginseng institute that will study, develop and promote Tennessee-grown herbal products for sale in Asia and other emerging markets. MTSU President Sidney A.
