Tamil Nadu — Foreign companies will now be able to access technology developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), which previously was restricted to use by domestic entities. Recent government guidelines point out the change in policy, from the transfer of technology for domestic use to foreign entities, by the Department of Space (DOS). “The technology transfer activities of the DOS are primarily intended for the domestic utilisation of DOS,” the guidelines state. “ISRO developed technologies by Indian industries. However, in the context of liberalisation and globalisation, requests from foreign organisations for transfer of DOS or ISRO developed technologies shall be encouraged…

It’s winter 2020. Never in recent memory has there been a holiday season where so much cheer (and cheering up) was needed, and when ordering online was really the perfect solution to all our holiday shopping hang-ups.We’ve reached a pinnacle, where our loved ones must be kept at arm’s length, and our affection must be delivered via postman. Which is really an ideal setup for those hoping to send a little piece of Israel to their friends and family this winter. You may not be able to visit the Holy Land for the time being, and vice versa, but we…

Seguramente has jugado con él.
KOLKATA, India — India, home to over 65 percent of the global tiger population, has recorded the lowest number of tiger deaths in the last five years. In an event held jointly in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and China’s capital Beijing on December 8, the new height was announced. Mount Everest is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Qomolangma in China. Nepal and China measured the height separately — but announced it together. This was the first time that Nepal has measured the height of…
GHAZIABAD, Uttar Pradesh — At the Koyla Nagar Hospital in the eastern coal-mining town of Dhanbad, Kamil Topno is a laboratory technician. But, in his village Thakurain Dera, about 240 km west, the 36-year-old is a hero. The village is surrounded by hillocks on three sides and is difficult to reach. It got power supply only in 2018 — but it’s erratic. “The transformer broke down after just six months,” Topno told Zenger News. Sumita Lakra, who heads the village local body corroborated Topno’s claim. “The entire area is surrounded by hillocks, so delivery of essential services is difficult,” she…
Just beneath the surface of the Earth lies a tremendous untapped source of energy that could help the United States meet renewable energy targets and mitigate the effects of climate change. Geothermal energy — derived from the planet’s internal heat — has to date been harnessed mainly in the west of the U.S. where molten rock is easy to access. But now researchers are looking for ways to develop new technology to increase its use across the rest of the country and have met with experts from Iceland, which has heavily incorporated it into its energy economy. Visitors watch the…
For Israeli companies considering US market entry, the United States they believe existed pre-Covid is a far different place than the country they wish to access now. While the pandemic has caused a lot of pain and suffering, opportunities have also arisen. And Israeli entrepreneurs are good at spotting opportunities in chaotic situations. One of those opportunities is the rise of US cities with newly robust tech ecosystems fueled by the work-from-home (WFH) trend and the exodus of highly skilled professionals from densely populated urban areas such as New York and the Bay Area. Now is the time for US…
