NASHVILLE, TN — The year 2024 is proving to be one of positivity, uplift and consistent leadership for Bishop Joseph W. Walker III as he continues to strive to enhance the lives of the Nashville community as well as the many people he engages on the national stage. His diverse inspirational messages resonate with many audiences. Walker’s messages of faith and hope “grow believers and produce achievers.”

Under his leadership, Mt. Zion Ministries entered the year with several accomplishments, including exceeding its College Sunday fundraising goals raising more than $550,000 in college funds. In turn, they helped more than 200 local students come into 2024 with optimism and hope as they were each awarded a $1,000 educational scholarship. This was during the time the federal government placed holds on student loan forgiveness plans and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application process was in distress. Mt. Zion also awarded $100,000 to Tennessee State University and Fisk University to help students with tuition expenses.

As a leader helping other church and community members rise and become successful, two of Walker’s bestselling books – “Leadership and Loneliness” and “Restored at the Root” – are now available in The Tennessee Tribune Stores at Nashville International Airport (BNA). He is the author of more than 13 books, and his titles are a bestseller among all available books at the Tribune stores located in BNA’s Southwest Airlines hub. Walker’s leadership books minister to an even broader audience to help one evolve into the leader God has called them to be. Walker believes “leaders are readers” and established the “Bishop’s Book Club,” encouraging participants to read 24 books in the year 2024.

In addition, Walker is helping to develop the next generation of leaders through his “Next Level Leader” podcast that airs on Spotify and Apple. This podcast includes conversations with leaders who provide mentoring, inspiration and scenarios that address the intersection of Christianity and the real-world marketplace. He offers spiritual mentoring through “The Shepherd’s Heart” program which provides tools and resources to help men and women grow in ministry.

Bishop Walker and Mt. Zion welcomes the community to worship at one of their multiple weekly services at their Brentwood, Old Hickory, or Antioch locations. Visitors are also welcome to worship online at www.MtZionNashville.org.
