GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Last week, Dollar General, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) and the RITZ brand hosted the third annual Read with RITZ brand program at Amqui Global Communications Magnet School in Madison, Tennessee. The event included a surprise $50,000 donation to the school from Dollar General’s Reading Revolution program, as well as giveaways to all 800+ students and staff.
“We’re excited to bring Read with RITZ to Amqui Global Communications Magnet School and support the incredible work happening inside its classrooms every day,” said Denine Torr, executive director of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. “By partnering with the RITZ brand, we hope these funds and new books help Metro Nashville Public School students discover the joy of reading and provide resources that encourage academic success.”
The surprise $50,000 DG Reading Revolution donation may be used to purchase books, technology programs, computers and/or other education supplies or resources needed to advance literacy gains. Since its inception in 2013, the Reading Revolution program has awarded more than $5 million to 137 schools and literacy-focused non-profit organizations.
The RITZ Brand also donated a backpack for each student that contains a new book and fun giveaways , totaling more than 800 books, and all teachers and staff received DG gift cards to purchase educational supplies and materials.
The Read with RITZ brand program began in 2024 at Alex Green Elementary School in Whites Creek, Tennessee and continued in 2025 at Joelton Elementary School in Joelton, Tennessee.
