Waives all upfront fees, premiums and deposits and urges
other property mgmt. companies to do the same
NASHVILLE, TN — Freeman Webb Company is offering anyone displaced by the tornadoes in middle Tennessee to contact them for assistance in securing a temporary home. Overseeing apartment complexes throughout Nashville and middle Tennessee, they are opening all vacant units in their apartment communities to anyone who is seeking shelter as a result of damage to their homes.
“Helping people who are without homes has always been a priority for Freeman Webb,” said Chief Operating Officer Kirby Davis. “Whether the homelessness is due to a sudden disaster like we are recovering from today or whether it is chronic homelessness we are combating, Freeman Webb wants to help.”
The company is offering short-term leases with no premium at the company’s best rates. They are waiving all upfront fees, including application fees, administration fees and deposits. They will work to ensure that they help everyone they possibly can, regardless of the significant overall costs that the company is waiving.
This project began as the result of a few committed employees who manage the company’s Nob Hill apartment complex in Nashville. Their immediate gesture to help their neighbors via social media platforms has grown to a company-wide initiative, with the company’s leadership putting their full endorsement behind the effort. Chairman Bill Freeman directed the company’s entire management team to offer this assistance at each of their local complexes. The company has suffered extensive damage to some of their properties in Nashville, and their employees have worked tirelessly to ensure that every one of their residents is safe and has temporary shelter elsewhere during the recovery efforts.
Thankfully, no employees or residents of Freeman Webb properties were injured during the storms. Many of their complexes in Nashville have been affected, but the remaining properties are working to provide shelter to residents from other complexes and to anyone who has been displaced by the storms as they are able and as subject to affordable housing guidelines.
“We want to make sure that we do whatever we can to help our neighbors,” commented Freeman Webb Executive Vice President Bob Freeman, who also represents the 56th House District in the Tennessee General Assembly, which includes parts of Nashville. “Nashville is our home as well, and having a place to call home is vital for everyone. We are so proud of our employees who have gone the extra mile to help their residents, many of them working through the night and arriving immediately after the storms hit to make sure everyone was safe. ”
Terming this project “Housing Assistance for Nashvillians Displaced,” or HAND, the company is calling on other local property management companies to do the same. “When disaster strikes, Nashville is ready to help,” commented Freeman Webb Director of Business Development Jason Powell, who is the state representative for the 53rd House District, representing parts of Nashville. “We encourage our peers in the apartment industry to do the same. If we all work together, we can make sure everyone has a place to call home.”
