GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Goodlettsville City Commission candidate Mike Milliner will host a community town hall on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Delmas Long Community Center, 200 Memorial Drive, Goodlettsville.
The forum will focus on the proposed Goodlettsville Investment Act, a referendum that would increase the City’s local option sales tax by one-half of one percentage point. The measure is scheduled for the November 3 general election ballot. The City estimates the proposed increase would generate approximately $3 million annually for municipal services and improvements.
The town hall is intended to give residents an opportunity to examine the proposal, ask questions about the City’s finances and revenue needs, and better understand how the proposed tax would affect residents in both the Davidson County and Sumner County portions of Goodlettsville.
“The purpose of the town hall is not to tell residents how to vote,” Milliner said. “It is to give people an
opportunity to examine the numbers, ask questions, and make their own informed decision before
Election Day.”
