Beginning Friday, September 18, the Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC) will temporarily close its payment assistance programs to new applications. This pause allows the agency to process current applications and support customers in completing incomplete submissions before the current program year ends on September 30.
MAC’s payment assistance programs play a vital role in helping Davidson County residents maintain stability by providing support with essential household expenses, including utility and rent payments, deposits, mortgage assistance, and prescription costs. These programs are designed to ease the financial strain experienced by low-income households by reducing the cost burden of basic living needs and helping families remain secure in their homes. This work directly aligns with MAC’s mission to strengthen community resilience and promote economic well‑being for all residents.
During this pause, MAC will continue accepting outstanding documents needed to complete already-submitted applications. If you have been disconnected or experiencing crisis you are encouraged to contact MAC immediately for guidance on applying for crisis assistance.
MAC urges all applicants to ensure they have all required documentation before applying. Step-by-step instructions for applying can be found on the agency’s website (www.nashville.gov/mac) or through the call center.
