NASHVILLE, TN — Regions Bank today announced the company has appointed Latrisha Jemison to serve as Regional Community Development and Partnerships Manager.
In this new capacity, Jemison oversees Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance throughout Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Her responsibilities also include diversity and inclusion outreach and national community partnerships in which she provides guidance and direction to Community Development Managers to ensure sustainable Community Development oversight for internal and external partnerships.

Jemison joined Regions in 2000. A 28-year banking veteran, Jemison has served for the last 25 years in community development roles. Her community involvement includes serving on numerous boards, including the American Baptist College, the Housing Fund and the Ivy Center Foundation of Nashville. Jemison has also received several recognitions for her community commitment; she was an honoree at the 2018 YWCA of Middle Tennessee’s Academy for Women of Achievement, a recipient of the Tennessee State University Women’s Center – Women of Legend and Merit award, and recognized as a Women of Power honoree by the National Urban League. A native of Nashville, Jemison earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University and an Executive MBA from Tennessee State University.

Jemison manages a team of community development professionals who, together, identify opportunities to invest in community development activities related to the Community Reinvestment Act. Primary areas of focus include financial education, affordable housing, small-business development and neighborhood revitalization for low- and moderate-income areas.
Jemison’s team includes three new hires:
Kathy Moore Cowan serves as Vice President and Community Development Manager, overseeing Chattanooga, Southwest Kentucky and West Tennessee. Previously, Cowan, who is based in Memphis, acted as Senior Community Development Specialist and Community Development Specialist at the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She has also served as President and CEO of The Works Inc., a Memphis-based company formed to serve the housing and community development needs of South Memphis. Cowan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College in Memphis. She also holds a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Nicole Woodson serves as the Indiana-based Vice President and Community Development Manager, overseeing the state. Woodson is a CRA expert with a demonstrated expertise in consumer compliance bank regulations. Prior to her start with Regions, Woodson served as a Compliance and CRA Officer with the National Bank of Indianapolis and a Regulatory Banking Consumer Compliance Examiner at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Woodson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
Misha Burkett serves as Vice President and Community Development Manager, overseeing Houston, Austin and Nacogdoches/Angelina Counties in Texas. Burkett previously served as Vice President, CRA Program Analyst at BBVA Compass, in Houston. She also served as Community Development and CRA Analyst, Compliance Secretary and Financial Service Representative at Simmons First National Bank in Little Rock, Ark. Burkett earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Additionally, Chris Parrott, who has served as Financial Wellness Relationship Manager for Regions for the past 10 years, has been promoted to serve on Jemison’s team as Vice President and Community Development Manager, overseeing East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and North Carolina. Previously, Parrott, who is Knoxville-based, worked as the Marketing Manager for the Knoxville, Tri-Cities and North Carolina area. Parrott earned a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from The University of Tennessee.
