KNOXVILLE, TN — It was a weekend of multiple outfit changes for many who attended events over the last weekend of summer.

The three-day reunion event held by the Austin -East Class of ‘73 included a need for outfits from tailgating to dancing to church and brunch.  Following a check presentation to their alma mater, the AE Class of ‘73 kicked everything into high gear with a city wide party at the Concourse.

Saturday was a full dance card as along with the city wide events held by AE, there were huge events held by two of Knoxville’s prominent African American churches.

The Burlington District started the busy day with a salad tea held  at Greater Warner which was immediately followed less than an hour later with a royal tea downtown at the Crown Plaza  sponsored by Tabernacle AME Zion Church where over 500 attended.

As the tea ended there was only a 2-hour turnaround time as the next event was the much anticipated Party at the Plaza on the mezzanine with a black and gold theme.

The weekend closed out with a Prayer Brunch sponsored by the Austin -East Class of 73. The speakers were Rev. Daryl Robinson from Rockwood and Bishop Thomas Dupree from Savannah, GA.
