NASHVILLE—The Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators (TBCSL) brings its statewide listening tour to Middle Tennessee this week with stops in Nashville and Clarksville. TBCSL Chairman Rep. Jesse Chism says the purpose of the tour is to inform Tennesseans about current Black Caucus initiatives and to gather ideas for the upcoming 2027 legislative session. TODAY the Caucus will hear from Nashville and Hermitage constituents in a special town hall meeting that’s free and open to the public (see attached flyer).
The tour will stop in Clarksville on Wednesday and is scheduled to continue through the rest of October and early November. It kicked off last week in Chattanooga and future planned stops include Memphis, Jackson, Oak Ridge, and Knoxville. Rep. Chism said, “We want to make sure Tennesseans across the state are informed on what’s happening in the State Legislature and get their feedback on the issues they face on a daily basis. We’re scheduling multiple stops in each of Tennessee’s three Grand Divisions. Hopefully, that will give plenty of our constituents a chance to come out and discuss their concerns, brainstorm possible solutions, and let them participate and help us in forming a short-term and long-term action plan.”
