NASHVILLE, TN — The Tennessee Titans now hit the road for two straight games in excellent shape, having won consecutive home games and beaten both the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. They also have to be thrilled with the performance of their defense in Sunday’s game against Kansas City. They had four sacks of Patrick Mahomes, as well as five other hits on him. Mahomes left the game late in the fourth quarter after a play in which Mahomes’ head was accidentally hit by Jeffrey Simmons thigh as he was going down. Mahomes passed concussion protocol, but was not returned to the game. Chad Henne played the final minutes, and had 11completions in 16 attempts for 82 yards.

Mahomes only completed 20 of 35 passes for 206 yards and had two turnovers, one interception and one fumble. By comparison, the Titans’ Ryan Tannehill completed 21 of 27 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a touchdown, and had one interception. The Titans jumped on the Chiefs with 27 first half points, and then cruised through the second, allowing only one field goal. Derrick Henry didn’t have a 100-yard rushing day, gaining 86 yards on 29 carries. But he also had two receptions for 16 yards and had a five touchdown passes to MyCole Pruitt out of the wildcat formation. A.J. Brown had his best day thus far, catching eight passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.

The win improved the Titans record to 5-2, and was their third straight home win since the opening day defeat by the Arizona Cardinals. The Titans head next to Indianapolis for a Halloween day game against the Colts, followed by another West Coast trip to Los Angeles for a Sunday night contest against the Rams.
