Mr. Jesse L. Burns, Jr. served as the President of Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida from 1993-1996 and the 10th President of the Connectional Lay Organization from 2003-2009. His local church was St. Paul AME Church in Ocala, Florida. Mr. Burns died on September 16, one day after his 70th birthday.
