NASHVILLE, TN — The Hendersonville Area (TN) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will host the 8th annual Chew and Move festival, Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Hadley Park Community Center, located at 1037 28th Avenue North. Chew and Move is a free, high energy event complete with educational opportunities, health screenings, and a variety of children’s activities.

Youth ages 9-12 are encouraged to participate in the free half-day festival which will feature nutrition and fun activities, along with free dental screenings courtesy of the Colgate Mobile Dental Van. Participants will have an opportunity to win a variety of door prizes, join in fun interactions and activities such as dance fitness, basketball, and a circuit course. In addition, Chef Darryl Dinning of Panache Catering will prepare a delicious and hearty lunch for children as well as for a Lunch & Learn session for parents, which will focus on “Health and Wellness.”

“Each year this event keeps getting better and better,” said Julie Gray, D.D.S., event chairperson. “Taking care of ourselves should be top of mind – and exercise and good nutrition is an important part of that. Chew and Move not only educates youth about healthy choices, it offers demonstrations on how to make exercise and nutrition a fun and regular part of their lives.”

To register for this free event, visit www.hendersonvillearealinks.org. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This is the eighth year that the Hendersonville Area (TN) Chapter will host the Chew and Move program, which has consistently grown in attracting young people and encouraging them to achieve a lifetime of health, particularly African-American children. For more information about Chew and Move and how you can sponsor or support the event, please call (615) 416-3244.
