The much anticipated Sex and the City reboot “And Just Like That” debuted on HBO Max in December, and unlike the original series, many viewers were delighted to find that several racially and ethnically diverse women have been added to the cast.
In addition to Lisa Todd Wexley who is played by Nichol Ari Parker, viewers are introduced to a second African American female character, Dr. Nya Wallace who is portrayed by Karen Pittman.
In the storyline, Wallace is a professor at Columbia Law and one of her students is Miranda Hobbes, a main character for the original series.
The two become friends and Wallace opens to up Hobbes about her struggles with infertility, her experience with IVF and how uncomfortable she is during social gathering with an associate she described as “Fertile Myrtle.”
