FRANKLIN, TN — If you’re a fan of graphic design, fashion or interior design, the recent art day event at O’More College of Design in Franklin, featured exhibits of beautiful and creative art. Faculty, staff and alumni of the college showcased some of their work to a nice crowd of art enthusiasts. Chris Thompson or his artist name, CHRISOLUX, is a graphic designer, artist, speaker and teacher that spoke with the audience about his unique exhibit. Thompson who is a Nashville native, later moved to New York where he worked with famous art director and author James Victore.

Guests were intrigued by Thompson’s very unique depiction of the dollar bill. Along the wall of one room were several dollar bills with drawings on the faces. Some of the faces were completely cut out. “I started drawing on the faces of dollars as a way to depict the deflation of the dollar bill over seven years. There’s one dollar in here that I drew to look exactly like me,” shared Thompson about his artwork.

O’More College is small non-profit private college that was founded in 1970 by Eloise Pitts O’More. With an enrollment of about 200 students, the accredited college awards a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Graphic Design, Interactive Design and Interior Design. President of the school, David Matthew Rosen, spoke on the history and how O’More was founded. “Eloise Pitts O’More was born south of Nashville. At the age of 18 she went to Paris to study dance, fine arts and design. When she was in her early sixties when she started this school out of her home but that became too small, so she bought the Abbey Leix Mansion plus, the surrounding properties and moved the school here,” shares Mr. Rosen.

As far as what you can expect from attending O’More, Mr. Rosen says, “We teach three areas of the Fine Arts which are: fashion design, he only nationally ranked program in Tennessee; interior design, which is our founding program, and the graphic design program.”
