Now that the election is over, a number of people are experiencing high levels of uncertainty. We should not think that life as we know it has ended. This is a defeatist attitude. What we should remember, especially as Black people, is that if we survived slavery and past Republican presidents, we can survive four years of Donald Trump. We must reset our thinking as to what is important and what we must do as a collective people going forward. Our first order of business during this time must be a return to prayer rather than party politics. We must…

On May 17, 1957, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was among a number of Civil Rights leaders who gathered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to speak to a crowd of 20,000 people who gathered for the implementation of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision by the Supreme Court some three years earlier. In less than 70 days, each of us will have an opportunity to either cast a vote or help someone vote who would not otherwise do so. The stakes are bigger than the race for the Presidency between Vice President Harris and Donald Trump. Propositions are…

The Democratic Party appears to have forgotten that all states are “battleground states” if you are losing where you should be winning. Wake up call: the Black Vote is not concerned with a speech at…
