Guinevere M. Donan of Johns Creek, GA passed away on Thursday May 12, 2022 at the age of 100. She was born on June 5th, 1921 in Rich Square, NC where she grew up, married and started a family.
She graduated from Kittrell College in 1942 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She moved to Philadelphia in 1947 where she worked as a bookkeeper for Provident Mutual Insurance Co. and The American Friends Service Committee for many years.
She was involved with Sayre United Methodist Church in Philadelphia. She enjoyed music of all kinds, live performances, cards with friends and knitting. She was passionate about cross word puzzles and watching Judge Judy. After moving to a farm in upstate Pennsylvania, she took to tending her vegetable garden, to great success, among other farm duties. Upon moving to Georgia 12 years ago she discovered a talent and passion for painting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude and mother, Clara. Also, husbands, P. H. Foust and Orlando Donan, and twin sisters Dorothy and Doris.
She is survived by her only child, William and his spouse Pamela Donan, sister-in-law, Gertrude Foust, a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The family would like to thank Capstone Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our mother in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at a time and place to be determined. Interment will be at Family Cemetery in North Carolina.
