NASHVILLE, TN — Job seekers are invited to a hospitality industry job fair on March 10 as the city brings together employers in the tourism and convention sectors for a hiring event. The job fair will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center, 5260 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Antioch. This is the fifth time the hospitality industry has come together to host a citywide job fair as Nashville’s momentum as a global destination continues. The job fair is free and open to the public.
The job fair is hosted by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp in partnership with Council Member Joy Styles of District 32, along with fellow Council members from Southeast Davidson County. Nineteen employers from the hospitality industry are registered to participate and more are expected.
“The hospitality industry is poised to be a major contributor of job growth in the area, and the NCVC joins city leaders in recognizing that workforce development is a priority in Nashville,” said Dr. Bob Fisher, president of Belmont University and board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “We are proud to bring this job fair to Antioch, one of Nashville’s fastest growing neighborhoods. In hospitality, there is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for full-time employment or seasonal work with all types of career paths and positions in all parts of the city.”
In a continued effort to engage more with neighborhoods around Nashville, the job fair will be held in Antioch. This will allow more accessibility for Nashvillians, especially on the south side of town. Employers from all sectors of the hospitality industry are expected to participate, and jobs will range from entry-level to management-level.

Nashville’s tourism industry continues its momentum with a record 16.1 million visitors to the city in 2019. For the eighth year in a row, Music City was recognized as a top destination to go in the world. Condé Nast Traveler, Forbes and The Sun (U.K.) ranked Nashville among international cities to visit in 2020. Additionally, Sports Business Journal named Nashville as the Best Sports City in the country for 2019, largely on the strength of the 2019 NFL Draft, which the NCVC brought to Nashville on behalf of the city and successfully implemented in partnership with the NFL.
Nashville’s hospitality industry employs 71,140 people and can be a successful career path leading to high-paying, quality positions. Hospitality is Nashville’s second-largest industry with worker/income paychecks equaling $1.79 billion.
The hospitality industry is expected to continue to grow and place even more pressure on the need for workers. Twenty hotel properties with 3,580 rooms are scheduled to open in 2020, on top of 18 hotel properties with 2,483 rooms that opened in 2019. There are currently 33,060 hotel rooms in Davidson County. Additionally, 103 restaurants and bars have announced openings in 2020, with 112 new restaurants opening last year.
The NCVC continues to partner with city leaders on key community issues associated with growth and development, including transit, workforce development and preserving neighborhood character, which are key components of the NCVC’s strategic plan.

The job fair is hosted by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association as part of a workforce initiative called Hospitality Works.
