NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation (TEL) has set a new record for a first quarter transfer to the Lottery for Education Account at $133,372,000. Total revenues for the quarter (July 1, 2023 – Sept. 30, 2023) were up 5.9 percent over the same period last year and the highest for any first quarter since inception on Jan. 20, 2004.

Additional details about the funds generated by the TEL since inception include:

    • More than $7.1 Billion in total education funding
    • More than $19.5 Billion in prizes won by players
    • More than $1.8 Billion paid in retailer commissions

“This quarter’s results reflect the Lottery’s strong commitment to Tennessee,” said TEL President and CEO Rebecca Paul. “Students and families across the state continue to benefit from scholarships, grants and after-school programs funded with Lottery dollars, and we remain committed to working hard to continue this momentum.”

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation operates entirely from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products. Since inception, more than two million scholarships and grants have been awarded to Tennessee students seeking a post-secondary education.
