Angel Martin is taking WeGo’s safety department to new heights. For the first time, the department achieved all drug and alcohol testing goals, based on requirements from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. As the Designated Employee Representative (DER) for WeGo Public Transit’s drug and alcohol program, Martin worked to revise policies and procedures to ensure all goals were met.
“Angel has worked tremendously hard to ensure that all employees understand that we are a drug free workplace,” stated Nick Oldham, Chief Safety and Security Officer. “The culmination of her work is that in 2023, we met our drug and alcohol testing compliance requirements.”
Martin joined WeGo as a recruiter in Human Resources two years ago prior to her current role.
“Over the past year, our department has achieved many successes in worker’s compensation and the drug and the alcohol program,” said Martin. “We take great pride in providing exceptional care and concern for our employees who have been injured on the job.”
