Sevyn Jenkins came into this world with 18 fractured ribs and a broken collarbone. Sevyn’s mother, Shakia Richardson, is active duty military. When her contractions started on December 24, 2019, Richardson’s partner, Trevon Jenkins, took her to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell. Sevyn is their first child. FRANKLIN, TN — Tennessee Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner Paul Degges joined federal, state, and local officials in Franklin today to celebrate the completion of the Mack Hatcher Northwest Quadrant with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The project extended Mack Hatcher Parkway for 3.1 miles from Hillsboro Road (US 431/SR 106) north of downtown Franklin to SR 96 west of downtown Franklin. Herbert Oliver, a civil rights activist who documented police brutality against African Americans in Alabama in the early 1960s and later fought for public school reform in New York City, has died. He was 96. Oliver died Nov. 30 in New York City after struggling with several health problems, his daughter, Patrice Oliver, said at his funeral in Brooklyn on Wednesday, according to an online video of the service.
