NASHVILLE, TN – The Surgeon General issued a warning last week about a mental health crisis among American youth. Dr. Vivek Murthy said children are suffering more depression and attempting more suicides since the arrival of COVID-19. “Even before the pandemic, an alarming number of young people struggled with feelings of helplessness, depression, and thoughts of suicide — and rates have increased over the past decade,” Murthy said.
