By Laken Bowles Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced that Davidson County property owners will soon see a large cut in their property tax rate. He told Amy Watson on NewsChannel 5 This Morning that the 34% property tax increase will be “reversed.” In response, some Metro council members and those behind a push to limit tax hikes in Nashville say the Mayor’s comments are misleading. Cooper said in the coming weeks, the Davidson County Property Assessor will mail out property reappraisals that will show property values have increased significantly across the county. He added that while the final data isn’t…

DOVER, Del.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– After the recent nomination of former Skadden lawyer, Lori Will, to the Chancery Court, Citizens for a Pro-Business Delaware joined with Pastor Blaine Hackett of St. John African Methodist Church along with community members to protest the decision and the lack of diversity in Delaware’s court system. The protest came a full two years after the first Black Chancery Court Justice, Tamika Montgomery-Reeves, had her seat filled by a white man, Paul Fioravanti. By Jeffrey L. Boney Quick question for any of you homeowners out there. Do you know if you are really wanted in the neighborhood where you purchased your current home and now reside? This is NOT a trick question, but a real one, so let’s get right to it. Based off of explicit language that may be found in the deed restrictions for your home, if you are a certain race, the home you purchased could very well be located in a neighborhood where those deed restrictions were in place at a time that forbid you from living there. These…

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Republicans are carping about a border crisis because President Biden ordered a halt to deportations and is letting some of the estimated 5,000 unaccompanied minors at the border join family members who are already in the U.S. But Biden didn’t create a crisis at the border. He inherited one. According to the Washington Post, illegal crossings surged repeatedly during Trump’s term. For example, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported sharp increases in arrests along the border in October and November. More than 69,000 arrests were made in October 2020, the highest number for any October…

Out of the 20 mass shootings and violent attacks since March 1st, one very distressing element stands out—a number of the attacks were carried out by GenZ’s (14-24 years) and Millennials (25-38 years), from diverse racial groups, and regions of the United States. For example, on April 7, 2021 in York County, South Carolina, 32 year…
