Nashville, Tenn. (TN Tribune) — Centerstone, a national leader in behavioral health care, will host its seventh annual Reclaiming Lives Luncheon on April 13 at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 pm CST. Sue Klebold, outspoken mental health advocate and New York Times bestselling author, will be the keynote speaker.

The Reclaiming Lives Luncheon raises funds to provide care for the most vulnerable community members served by Centerstone, increases awareness of mental health issues, and offers education about suicide prevention. Multiple sources report that anxiety and depression rates have increased in the United States due to the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a greater need for behavioral health services across the population.

“We are looking forward to being together with our friends and community supporters for what will surely be an inspiring event,” said Ben Middleton, regional CEO at Centerstone. “We have wanted to bring Sue Klebold to our Reclaiming Lives Luncheon for a few years now and know that her remarkable story will mean a lot to this audience.”

Klebold is the mother of Dylan Klebold, one of the two shooters at Columbine High School—a tragedy that saddened and galvanized the nation. Before publishing her book, A Mother’s Reckoning, Sue spent 15 years after the tragedy excavating every detail of her family life, and trying to understand the crucial intersection between mental health issues and violence. Instead of becoming paralyzed by her grief and remorse, she has become a passionate and effective agent working to advance mental health awareness and intervention.

Tickets for Centerstone’s 2022 Reclaiming Lives Luncheon are available here.

This year’s sponsors are FirstBank (Presenting), The Ayers Foundation, Parker Griffith Foundation (Champion), and FirstFleet (Ambassador). Previous speakers at the Reclaiming Lives Luncheon have included bestselling authors Glennon Doyle and Cheryl Strayed, Grammy winning artist Amy Grant, and PostSecret founder Frank Warren.

For information about sponsorships, please contact Maria Wolfe at maria.wolfe@centerstone.org.
