KNOXVILLE, TN — They were obviously not discouraged by Clinton’s loss. Quite the contrary. The women of EMERGE Tennessee class of  2017,  along with women across the country, seem to be energized and determined to run for office in the coming election period. The 2018 mid election has seen a growing number  democratic women running for office.

Emily’s  List, The Pew Research Center, even PBS, are predicting 2018 could be the year of the woman. Their studies show more women are paying attention to politics in record numbers and are following the issues very closely. Tennessee is proving to be to be a prime example of this trend. Three more members of the initial class of EMERGE Tennessee have announced their intent to run for office. All three of these political sisters throwing their hats in the ring are from Memphis.

Adrienne Pakis-Gillon is running for TNDP Executive Committee Woman for District 31.

J Racquel Collins-MilinKovich, an Air Force veteran is  running on a platform for better veteran services  and is running for Shelby County Commissioner, District 1.

London Lamar, Vice Chair of the Black Caucus of Young Democrats of America and President of Tennessee Young Dems is running for State Representative with a platform for new opportunities for families.

CAC East in Holston Shopping Center as a drop point. Mr. Albert Nelson is the director.
